Not just collagen: everything needed to use it

Most collagen products provide only collagen. But collagen on its own is like delivering bricks to a building site with no workers, no cement and no scaffolding. Elisir Collagene combines 8 grams of collagen from two sources with the amino acids that build it, the vitamins that activate it and the antioxidants that protect it.

Supply: the substrate

Marine collagen (type I, low molecular weight, rapid absorption) for density and elasticity; hydrolysed collagen (rich in type III) for softness. Together they cover the skin’s complete amino acid profile.

Synthesise: the three amino acids

Glycine is one residue in three of the collagen molecule: without enough glycine the body cannot produce new collagen. Ornithine stimulates the secretion of growth hormone, the main hormone of night-time regeneration — which is why it is also taken in the evening. Cysteine is the precursor of glutathione, which protects the fibres that already exist.

Activate: the cofactors

Without vitamin C the enzymes that synthesise collagen shut down. Zinc regulates fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen; the B vitamins support amino acid metabolism and cell renewal.

Protect: the antioxidant system

Astaxanthin, a carotenoid from microalgae, penetrates the cell membrane and nucleus. Ellagic acid from pomegranate inhibits MMPs, the enzymes that break down collagen. Selenium fuels glutathione peroxidase, and grapevine OPCs improve skin microcirculation.

During menopause

As oestrogen levels fall, collagen loss speeds up: the skin becomes thinner, drier and less elastic, and the joints suffer as a result. Creams act on the surface, while the problem lies in the dermis. Elisir Collagene replenishes from within the collagen that the skin can no longer produce on its own, with the amino acids that make up for reduced synthesis and the antioxidants that counter the higher oxidative stress of this stage of life. Sugar-free, with erythritol and stevia.

What to expect

The ideal cycle is around two months. This is the realistic progression of visible results.

Weeks 1–2
Hydration
Hyaluronic acid and peptides draw water into the dermis: skin that is more hydrated and softer to the touch, first signs of radiance.
Weeks 3–4
Radiance and firmness
Fibroblasts, stimulated by amino acids and cofactors, increase collagen synthesis; astaxanthin reduces oxidative stress. Fine lines appear less pronounced.
Weeks 5–6
Elasticity and tone
The new collagen matrix organises itself; MMP inhibition slows the breakdown of existing collagen. More defined facial contours.

Why in the evening too?

Because ornithine stimulates growth hormone, which is responsible for cell regeneration during sleep: the evening dose works while you sleep.

Does it contain sugar?

No: it is sweetened with erythritol and stevia, with no added sugars.

How long should it be taken for?

The body loses around 1% of its collagen a year after the age of 25, with an acceleration after menopause: a constant loss that a constant intake makes up for. Structural benefits consolidate after 8–12 weeks and are maintained with continued use.
