Overview
What it's for
What it's for
Elisir Reflora is a supplement designed to support the balance of the intestinal flora and gut health.
Key benefits
- helps the balance of the gut microbiota
- improves digestion and intestinal well-being
- supports the immune system
How it works
Four actions together
Elisir Reflora is not a probiotic, nor a diuretic. It is a formula that repairs the intestinal wall, feeds the microbiome, reduces inflammation and relieves bloating — in the same scoop.
Repairs and seals the wall
L-glutamine is the main amino acid used by the cells of the intestinal mucosa as a source of energy to regenerate. Alpha-lactalbumin — the main whey protein in breast milk, here lactose-free — supports the production of secretory IgA and strengthens the tight junctions. Zinc regulates claudin and occludin, the proteins that hold the “bricks” of the wall together.
Feeds and rebalances the microbiome
FOS selectively feed bifidobacteria and lactobacilli. Lactobacillus acidophilus guards the small intestine and lowers the pH; Bifidobacterium longum colonises the colon, reduces fermentation and produces short-chain fatty acids that nourish the mucosa. Vitamin D3 modulates the intestinal immune response.
Switches off inflammation
Curcumin inhibits NF-kB, the factor that regulates inflammation genes. Boswellic acids inhibit 5-lipoxygenase, reducing the leukotrienes involved in irritable bowel syndrome.
Relieves bloating
The anethole in fennel has antispasmodic effects on the intestinal smooth muscle: it reduces gas and cramps and acts quickly, as early as the first week.
Leaky gut
The intestinal wall is lined with cells joined together by protein structures called tight junctions: they let nutrients through and keep out toxins, bacteria and undigested molecules. When this barrier weakens — stress, diet, antibiotics, inflammation — the junctions loosen and the gut becomes permeable: substances that should not get through do, and inflammation, chronic bloating, intolerances and fatigue follow. That is why diets alone are not enough: the problem is not the food, it is the wall.

What to expect
What to expect
The actions work on different timescales: fennel and boswellia act within days, rebuilding the wall takes weeks.
- Days 1–7
Your belly starts to breathe
Fennel and boswellia reduce gas and fermentation; the first doses of glutamine nourish the mucosa. Many people report a feeling of abdominal lightness after just 5–7 days.
- Days 8–20
The gut rebuilds itself
Glutamine activates the regeneration of the mucosa and the tight junctions strengthen; the probiotics, together with the FOS, colonise stably. Bloating decreases over the course of the day and regularity improves.
- Days 21–60
The barrier is repaired
Less permeability, less systemic inflammation, a rebalanced microbiome. The immune defences, supported by vitamin D3 and zinc, are more robust.
The times indicated are an estimate and may vary from person to person, depending on age, lifestyle, diet and consistency in taking the product.
Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Does it contain lactose?
Alpha-lactalbumin is a whey protein present in a naturally lactose-free form.
How is it different from a probiotic?
Probiotics add good bacteria, but if the intestinal wall is damaged they cannot colonise stably. Elisir Reflora first repairs the wall (glutamine, alpha-lactalbumin, zinc), then feeds and rebalances the microbiome.
