How it works
Why D3 and turmeric, and why in oil
Vitamin D3 and curcumin are fat-soluble: they dissolve in fats, not in water. Elisir D delivers them in an organic extra virgin olive oil, and the turmeric is not an ingredient sitting alongside the D3, but the one that makes it more usable by the cells.
A lipid carrier, not a capsule
D3 and curcumin are incorporated into the micelles formed by the oil's triglycerides and are absorbed together with fats in the small intestine. The quality of the oil determines the quality of that absorption: this is why the carrier is the organic extra virgin olive oil from Capo Farfa, cold-pressed and rich in polyphenols and monounsaturated fatty acids.
Curcumin makes cells more receptive to D3
Curcumin increases the expression of the vitamin D receptor (VDR) in immune system cells, osteoblasts and inflamed tissues. More active receptors mean more D3 used at the same dose.
Two different pathways against inflammation
D3 modulates the immune system by reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α). Curcumin inhibits NF-kB and blocks COX-2. Together they act on several inflammatory pathways at the same time.
The oil protects the curcumin
The polyphenols in EVO oil (hydroxytyrosol, oleuropein) protect curcumin from oxidation during intestinal transit — one of the long-standing limitations of pure curcumin. The oil also contains oleocanthal, a molecule with an anti-inflammatory action of its own.
The Capo Farfa oil
Capo Farfa is a small Italian farm that produces organic extra virgin olive oil by cold-pressing its own olives, with no chemicals, no solvents and no high-temperature treatments. The oil is traceable back to the field, and organic certification guarantees the absence of pesticide residues that could interfere with the absorption of the active ingredients.

What to expect
Vitamin D3 does not act instantly: blood levels rise progressively and the benefits unfold in a cascade. Curcumin, with its direct anti-inflammatory action, arrives sooner.

The first signs
Curcumin begins its anti-inflammatory action as early as the first 48–72 hours. Widespread muscle and joint pain and morning stiffness begin to ease, while D3 levels in the blood start to rise.
- Days 16–30
Energy returns
D3 levels reach optimal values. Morning energy, immune system responsiveness, mood and concentration improve.
- After 60 days
Body, mind and defences
The muscle and joint benefits consolidate, infections become less frequent and shorter, and mood stays stable even in the winter months. Those who have blood tests see their D3 at optimal levels.

Why oil drops rather than a capsule?
Because D3 is fat-soluble: without a quality fat, absorption drops drastically. Organic extra virgin olive oil is the carrier in which D3 and curcumin dissolve and are absorbed together with fats.

Can I take it together with Elisir K2?
Yes, but spaced apart: vitamin D3 and K2 compete for the same lipid transporters in the intestine. Kept at least 6 hours apart — D3 in the morning, K2 after dinner — each one is absorbed at its best.
